Rebecca Tapick
Lead of PAL Support
Rebecca Perring Tapick is a community advocate for families experiencing pregnancy and infant loss across the spectrum. Mother to four living children ages, she was called to this work after her own pregnancy loss in 2017 rocked her world and opened her eyes to the gaps in bereavement care and support.
Rebecca’s miscarriage experience was lonely, difficult, and lacking empathy from others. Years later, the grief of how she was treated during her loss continues to have a deep impact on her, and inspires her to push for change within institutional systems to create more empathetic care. She believes fully in the rights of mothers and families to have control and choice throughout their loss.
Supporting grieving families is close to Rebecca’s heart, and she serves as a grief mentor and support group facilitator and is also a certified StillBirthday doula. Of particular interest to her is supporting families considering getting pregnant again or experiencing pregnancy after having a loss.
Rebecca’s past careers include roles in politics, the non-profit sector, and education, and she also has several years of experience with Non-Violent Communication, allowing her to
compassionately connect with people experiencing grief and trauma.
