Mary Alice Carpenter
Mary Alice Carpenter is a Marriage and Family Therapist and long-time advocate for the emotional well-being of expecting and new parents. Before becoming a therapist, she spent many years supporting families as a birth and postpartum doula and later as a licensed midwife (LM, CPM). Her work across the perinatal spectrum gave her a deep understanding of the vulnerabilities, joys, and challenges that accompany pregnancy, birth, and early parenthood.
As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate (practicing under the supervision of Kim Jones, M.A., LMFT-S), Mary Alice integrates specialized training in Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders into her work. She is also an active member of Postpartum Support International and is committed to nurturing the mental health of parents through both clinical care and community connection.
Mary Alice was drawn to volunteer with Missing Pieces Support Group through the combination of her professional experience, her own personal pregnancy losses, and her desire to give compassionate support back to families navigating grief.
