Joan Zhang

Joan Zhang is a healthcare entrepreneur and operator who previously founded and served as CEO of Arise Health, a technology-enabled healthcare company focused on expanding access to eating disorder treatment through integrated clinical care, peer support, and digital tools. Prior to and throughout her work building Arise, Joan held leadership roles across healthcare and mental health organizations including Headspace, Ginger, Click Therapeutics, and Deloitte, where she focused on scaling innovative care models and improving access to care for underserved populations. In recognition of her impact in healthcare innovation, she was named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 list.

Joan’s connection to pregnancy loss is deeply personal. After experiencing multiple pregnancy losses, she developed a profound understanding of the emotional complexity of infertility, recurrent pregnancy loss, and the often-isolating journey of family building. Her experiences have shaped her passion for supporting others navigating grief, uncertainty, and hope, and for creating spaces where difficult conversations around loss can be shared openly and compassionately.

Outside of her professional work, Joan enjoys spending time with her husband and their endlessly entertaining puppy (Ari) and perpetually grumpy cat (Charlie). She loves traveling, exploring new cultures and cuisines, running, and checking out the latest films. She is passionate about patient advocacy, women’s health, and helping others navigate life’s most challenging transitions with empathy, resilience, and purpose.
