Elizabeth Soto

Grant Writer

Elizabeth is a goal-oriented and self-motivated public health professional, educator,
grant writer, and researcher with a passion for improving health outcomes through
strategic communication and evidence-based program design. With expertise in
comprehensive program development, implementation, and management through a
social marketing lens, Elizabeth is dedicated to advancing public health initiatives that
address the needs of vulnerable and underserved communities.
Elizabeth earned her Master of Public Health (MPH) in Social Marketing from the
University of South Florida in 2024 and a Bachelor of Science in Biology and
Psychology from Florida Southern College in 2020. She also holds a Certificate in Grant
Writing from Spark the Fire Grant Writing (a GPCI-accepted education program) that
she obtained in 2025. While receiving her education, Elizabeth worked as a STEM
educator for Polk County Schools and one of the largest children’s nonprofits in the
country, Camp Fire. These experiences strengthened her resolve to learn more about
how she can improve her communities through her education, volunteer work, and
experiences.
Currently, Elizabeth lives in South Florida, where she volunteers her time as a grant
writer to a multitude of diverse nonprofits across the nation, such as Missing Pieces,
that align with her values and goals of creating a healthier and happier world. She also
serves as a tutor for Broward County students, a job which she loves because nothing
brings her more joy than working with children and helping them better understand the
world. Outside of work, Elizabeth enjoys reading lots of books, walking her dog, and
cuddling her cats while playing her favorite video game, Stardew Valley.
