Erin Dierickx
Research and Community Engagement Specialist
Erin is a researcher, educator, and community advocate passionate about advancing conversations and improving access to accurate information in reproductive health. In 2024, she earned her Ph.D. in Kinesiology from the University of Connecticut, where her work focused on human performance and safety in extreme environments, and has led federally funded research studies through the Department of Defense and National Science Foundation. Throughout her career in academia, program management, and health education, Erin became increasingly aware of the gap between research and the dissemination of that knowledge, sparking her desire to help bridge it. Her awareness deepened through personal experiences that revealed how often pregnancy loss remains unspoken and how vital it is to have supportive, informed communities. At Missing Pieces Support Group, Erin uses her background in research, data collection, and program evaluation to strengthen services and amplify the voices of families navigating loss, ensuring their stories inspire greater awareness, compassion, and action.
Outside of work, Erin is happiest outdoors, whether trail running, hiking, paddling, or just breathing in the fresh air. She also takes great pride in her ever-changing garden, which is sometimes a masterpiece, sometimes a disappointment, but always a lesson in adaptability!
