Together, we offer hope to families navigating pregnancy and infant loss—and build a more compassionate, informed community.

What You’ll Do: Choose from our list of care package items that speak to you, add your personal touch (like a kind note, sticker, or drawing), and then deliver or ship them to us. It’s a simple, thoughtful way to make a big difference.

Become a Missing Pieces Ambassador

Use your voice to spread awareness and connect others to hope.

What You’ll Do: Select a path that aligns with your comfort level—whether you’re passionate about sharing online, showing up in your community, or representing Missing Pieces at events.

Ambassador Paths:

  • Digital Amplifier – Use your social media or email to share updates and events.

  • Network Representative – Share within your groups (faith, workplace, etc.).

  • Community Builder – Attend awareness events and represent Missing Pieces.

  • Run Ambassador – Help promote the Life After Loss 5K & Fun Run.

Drives Volunteer (Local to Houston)

Who’s a good fit: If you’re someone who loves connecting with others and ensuring everything runs smoothly, this role is perfect for you. Local volunteers will play a critical part in managing donation drives and ensuring materials are efficiently collected and distributed to support grieving families.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate collection bins and service projects.

  • Pick up and help sort donated items.

Support Group Facilitator (Remote or Local to Houston options)
Who’s a good fit: This role is for licensed grief professionals—such as therapists, social workers, or counselors—who are passionate about holding space for individuals and families navigating the complexities of pregnancy loss or pregnancy after loss. If you’re empathetic, experienced, and ready to help others find strength and connection through community, your support can make a lasting impact.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead peer support groups virtually or in person (Houston area), providing a compassionate, nonjudgmental environment for healing.

  • Use both personal insight and our tailored curriculum (training provided) to guide participants through grief and coping techniques.

  • Offer emotional support while upholding professional boundaries and group safety.



PAL Mentor (Remote & Local to Houston options)
Who’s a good fit: This role is perfect for moms who have experienced pregnancy after loss and feel called to walk alongside someone currently navigating that journey. You don’t need to be a professional—just someone with a listening ear, a compassionate heart, and the willingness to offer gentle encouragement and real-life insight.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one support to a fellow mom navigating pregnancy after loss through text, email, phone calls, or meetups based on mutual comfort.

  • Offer encouragement, share personal experience when appropriate, and be a steady, understanding presence.

Guest Speaker (Remote)
Who’s a good fit: This role is ideal for individuals—both professionals and those with lived experience—who feel called to share their stories or expertise to support grieving families. Whether you’re a therapist, doula, medical provider, or loss parent with a powerful perspective, your voice can help others feel seen and supported.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in speaking opportunities such as our podcast, virtual support sessions, or online engagements.

  • Share your personal journey or professional insights in ways that validate, educate, and uplift others.



Content Support Volunteer (Remote)
Who’s a good fit: If you’re detail-oriented, resourceful, and passionate about helping others find trusted support, this behind-the-scenes role might be perfect for you. Content Support Volunteers are essential to ensuring the families we serve have access to helpful, relevant, and compassionate resources.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Research and recommend articles, podcast episodes, local services, and grief support tools related to pregnancy and infant loss.

  • Help maintain our digital resource library to ensure accessibility and relevance for our community.

Day-of Event Support & Logistics Lead (Local to Houston)

Who’s a good fit:
If you’re an organized, hands-on leader who thrives in fast-paced environments and enjoys making sure everything goes off without a hitch, this role is made for you. You’ll be the go-to person on event day—making a meaningful impact by creating a smooth, supportive experience for guests and volunteers alike.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee event setup and direct volunteers

  • Serve as the on-site contact for vendors, speakers, and special guests

  • Support and manage all day-of volunteers (greeters, hospitality, activity stations, etc.)

  • Monitor the flow of the event and troubleshoot any issues that arise

  • Lead breakdown and cleanup efforts after the event



Sponsorship & Donor Outreach Volunteer (Remote)

Who’s a good fit:
If you’re friendly, organized, and passionate about connecting community resources to a meaningful cause, this role is a great fit. You’ll help us secure sponsors, in-kind donors, and local support to keep our events and services strong.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research and identify potential sponsors, in-kind donors, and local businesses

  • Send outreach emails or make calls using prepared templates

  • Track outreach progress and communication in shared documents

  • Coordinate with the social media team to ensure public thank-yous and sponsor recognition



Participant & Volunteer Recruitment Volunteer (Remote)

Who’s a good fit:
If you enjoy connecting with schools, churches, or community groups—and encouraging people to show up for a cause—this outreach role is for you. You’ll help spread the word and rally support for our events through local engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Share outreach emails and make calls to encourage registration using prepared templates

  • Document outreach progress and communication in shared documents

  • Track sign-ups and communicate with the Event Operations Coordinator

  • Assist with reminders or follow-up emails for participants and volunteers

Grant Writer (Remote)

Who’s a Good Fit: Grant Writer is ideal for someone with strong research and writing skills, a passion for supporting nonprofits, and an interest in securing funding for a cause. This role is perfect for someone who is organized, proactive, and able to work independently on a flexible schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research new grant opportunities that align with the organization’s mission.

  • Prepare and write grant proposals, ensuring all required information is gathered, formatted, and submitted on time.

  • Maintain and update a database of grant opportunities and deadlines.

  • Collaborate with team members to review and revise grant proposals before submission.

  • Provide regular updates on the status of ongoing proposals to the team.

Website Volunteer (Remote)
Who’s a good fit: Ideal for someone with web management experience (especially on WordPress) who wants to use their technical skills to support a meaningful mission. If you’re detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable updating content, your behind-the-scenes help will directly support families finding us online.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Keep our website up to date with events, resources, and organizational updates.

  • Support layout edits, page management, and uploading of new materials as needed.



Marketing Volunteer (Remote)
Who’s a good fit: This role is great for creative, mission-driven individuals who enjoy crafting social media posts, writing outreach content, or brainstorming ways to grow community engagement. If you’re familiar with platforms like Instagram, Facebook, or Canva, we’d love your help spreading awareness.
